JK runs classes for children aged 3 years to adult
Classes open to adults of any age and level from the ultimate beginnner to the advanced dancer. If you love performing arts then join us at any JK class in Burgess Hill and Hove.
CLASSES
BURGESS HILL
Mondays
7.00 - 8.00pm - DanceFit for adults
• Full Body Warm Up- cardio and abdominal work
• Exciting choreography and easy to follow dances
• Energetic, and be inspired to exercise!
No dance experience needed. Classes open to adults of any age and level from the ultimate beginner to the advanced dancer. If you love performing arts then come and join us!
Wednesdays
3.00 - 3.45pm - JK Mini Movers (3.5yrs - 5yrs)
- 45 minute of laugh and play. For the little ones who cannot stop moving and performing. The class is infused with creativity and the children will learn aspects of dance, singing and acting through role play.
4.00 - 6.30pm - Main Theatre School (6yrs - 16yrs)
- 2 1/2 hour session with 45 minutes in each discipline of dance, singing and acting with a 15 minute break inbetween class 2 and 3.
HOVE
Classes are held at the Happy Cell in Hove.
We run dance courses in commercial jazz, musical theatre and beginners ballet. Please contact JK for the next available course
The courses include:
• Commercial Jazz is a mix of street and jazz dance with a flavour of hip hop
• Musical Theatre dance includes many styles of performance including jazz, the essence of tap, vaudeville, ballet and includes different styles of choreography found in the West End and Broadway shows.
• Beginner’s ballet teaches posture, co-ordination and musical appreciation. It encourages poise, sculpts your body and tones your muscles without bulking promoting fitness and cardiovascular exercise.
The classes are non-competitive, friendly and a great way to get fit while learning something new.
Fridays
4.00-5.00pm - JK Dance and Drama (8-13yrs)
All classes are taught by qualified teachers and artists currently working in the TV/Film and theatre industry. All teachers have a full CRB Enhanced Disclosure.
JK Theatre Disciplines for children
Dance
Students will learn a variety of dance styles including jazz, pop, latin and musical theatre repertoire. Dance will improve a child’s co-ordination and technique.
Drama
Improvisation and role play will help develop a child’s creativity and communicational skills. Characterisation through solo & group work, alongside mime, breathing & voice control are covered throughout the year. We also explore camera work, audition technique and performance etiquette.
Singing
An introduction to different singing styles focussing on warm up techniques including breathing and vocal exercises. Children will explore their vocal ability by developing and understanding their voice. Appreciation of all forms of song including choral and solo performances will enable the children to learn about different rhythms and harmonies.
FEES
All adult classes are paid on a pay as you dance basis at £5 per class. Please pay this to the teacher on arrival at the venue.
All new child members are invited to have a free taster class! Children's class fees are payable on a monthly basis.

Fees are due on the first lesson of every month and can be paid via cash, cheque or by standing order. Please note that a child's absence will not alter the monthly fees. These are only changed if a class is cancelled by JK.
